A growing company has to innovate technologically while simultaneously building an organization with an evolving business strategy—all with limited resources. We’re technology entrepreneurs who understand these challenges, so we’ve designed a service to help you get things done.

In our work for market-leading companies, we’ve built strong patent portfolios by establishing the right strategy up front, seeing it through implementation, and then continuously ensuring that new patent applications align to it. We’re now bringing that service to the start-up community.

A strong patent portfolio can do more than just protect key features of a company’s core technology; it can also provide revenues through portfolio licensing or sale and motivate market leaders to partner with or acquire a company. We’ve seen (and enabled) these impacts first-hand.

1. Discover

We discover the key features of the inventions by interviewing engineers, managers and other stakeholders

2. Inventory

We inventory the company’s existing inventions, along with any patents already filed

3. Landscape

We landscape the patenting activity of the technology space using Patentory, a proprietary patent mapping tool

4. Prioritize

With the help of Liquid Venture Partners, we prioritize the inventions that are most important to the business strategy

5. Document

We compile a comprehensive patent strategy document that managers can use to track progress against invention milestones

6. Partner

We partner with leading US law firms that draft patent applications for our clients (at a discounted price) based on the strategy we set

7. Coordinate

We coordinate the patent filing process between the lawyers and engineers, so managers can focus on running the business

8. Repeat

We repeat these steps periodically to make sure we don’t leave any of our clients’ future inventions unprotected
